Psychiatric Technician – SARP Clinic, Camp Lejeune

US Got People (USGP) is seeking a Psychiatric Technician to provide compassionate and professional behavioral health services to our military service members, veterans, and their families at the Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Program (SARP) Clinic, Camp Lejeune.

Benefits

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 0600–2000 (8.5-hour shift with a 30-minute lunch)

Qualifications

Education: Must meet one of the following:

  • Current certification as a Psychiatric Technician by the American Association of Psychiatric TechniciansOR
  • Completion of Military Psychiatric Technician Training or equivalent, OR
  • Associate’s degree in a behavioral science or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, or a related field

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required

  • Experience: Minimum of one year experience as a Psychiatric Technician within the last three years

Immunization Requirements

(Must be current or able to obtain prior to start date)

  • Hepatitis B (series and titer)
  • Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)
  • TB (Tuberculosis) test
  • Seasonal Influenza vaccine
  • COVID-19 vaccine (if applicable)

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply sound psychiatric principles and practical approaches in patient care.
  • Support and maintain a therapeutic milieu, promoting structure, safety, patient education, and social skill development.
  • Monitor, escort, and participate in patient activities within the clinic and outpatient programs.
  • Use sound judgment and crisis intervention techniques, including de-escalation and physical restraint when necessary, in accordance with facility policies.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of psychotropic medications, including actions, side effects, and dosage ranges; accurately administer and document medications per policy.
  • Perform patient screening and triage to determine presenting problems and appointment priorities; assist providers in identifying treatment strategies.
