Ophthalmology Technician Opportunity Location: Naval Hospital Jacksonville, Florida Organization: U.S. Got People (USGP) USGP is currently seeking a skilled Ophthalmology Technician to join our dedicated team, providing exceptional care to our nation's military service members, veterans, and their families within the Ophthalmology and Optometry Clinic at Naval Hospital Jacksonville. - Minimum of 2 years’ experience (within the last 3 years) assisting in corneal refractive surgeries such as PRK and LASIK.
- Experience in patient selection, pre-op, surgical assistance, and post-op care.
- Conduct ophthalmic tests and measurements as directed by physicians.
- Support vision therapy programs as prescribed by ophthalmologists/optometrists.
- Perform pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care for refractive surgery patients.
- Operate and maintain refractive lasers (e.g., excimer, femtosecond) and assist in PRK, LASIK, and SMILE procedures.
- Prepare surgery suites, calibrate equipment, and ensure instruments are clean, sterile, and functional.
- Input data into AHLTA, CHCS, and other required systems.
- Conduct subjective and automated refractions (including use of Marco Epic system).
- Coordinate patient flow, including scheduling and preparing patients for procedures.
- Triage patients, screen walk-ins and emergency cases, and assist with telephone inquiries.
- Assist with office procedures, laser treatments, and surgical procedures in the main OR.
- Maintain inventory of exam rooms and surgical suites, coordinating supply needs.

- Administer procedural sedation giving the appropriate medication, dose, route, and time. This task includes appropriate documentation, monitoring, and administration/use of reversal agents.
