Clinical Psychologist – Full-Time
Location: William Beaumont Army Medical Center
Department: Mental Health

Position Summary:
USGP is seeking a dedicated Clinical Psychologist to join the Mental Health Department at William Beaumont Army Medical Center. This full-time role supports active duty service members, providing vital behavioral health services in a mission-driven environment.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited institution
- Internship/Residency: Successful completion from an internship in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association. An APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship in professional psychology (this 1-year internship is part of an APA-accredited doctoral program).
- Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice psychology in any U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands
- Experience: At least one year of experience in the last 2 years as a licensed clinical psychologist, with proficiency in psychological evaluation, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment
- Must have training either during their internship or as a licensed provider they have gained experience through working with child and adolescent population
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association or military equivalent
- Intermediate computer skills with ability to manage electronic records and data analysis tools
Immunization Requirements (Must be current or able to obtain):
- Hepatitis B (series and titer)
- Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Varicella (Chickenpox)
- TB (Tuberculosis) test
- Seasonal Influenza (flu) vaccine
- COVID-19 vaccine (if applicable)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide psychological evaluations using interviews, testing, and collateral data
- Diagnose mental health disorders in accordance with the DSM
- Deliver individual, family, couples, and group psychotherapy
- Support medical and surgical patients in coping with injury, illness, or rehabilitation needs
- Participate in team meetings and case conferences as a non-voting member
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in both outpatient and inpatient records
- Attend and participate in quality improvement activities and required professional training
- Collaborate with military leadership, legal entities, and community organizations as needed
- Adhere to all applicable professional standards and MTF credentialing requirements
- Provides individual and group therapy, using various evidence based/informed modalities as clinically indicated to include brief problem-focused psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and client-centered therapy for children, adolescents, and family members.
- Assesses and provides crisis intervention for children, adolescents, and family members undergoing unusual psychologically related stresses.
- Provides psychological and clinical consultation to other professionals and paraprofessionals through established consultation channels.
- Screens and interviews children, adolescents, and family members, and utilizes psychometric instruments in the assessment of psychological disorders typically affecting children and adolescents; performs biopsychosocial evaluations
- Oversees and interprets appropriate tests, using expert knowledge of general and specific concepts, principles, procedures, and practices relating to the psychological functioning of children, adolescents, and family members
- Provides expert professional consultation to primary care providers and other professional staff regarding the psychological functioning of children, adolescents, and families.
